Of all of
the types of Java diagram available from
a UML tool which support Java reverse engineering,
but of these, class diagrams are the most commonly
used Java
diagrams.
Java diagrams
give the programmer a better overview of the architecture
than simply scrolling through the source code
as text. From a Java diagram you can see the interconnections
between components which would be very difficult
to spot from within the Java source code. A single
Java diagram can be used to bring together a collection
of related classes. Each Java diagram can be 'grown'
by adding related classes one at a time. The resulting
Java diagram is then relevant to a particular
aspect of the Java model,
rather than the unhelpful swarm of classes which
is typically the result of automatically produced
Java diagrams.
