The Eclipse
Java Development Tooling plugin publishes a
Java Model of your project.
It is this Java Model which drives the package
explorer, and can be used to drive other views
such as AgileJ StructureViews.
The Eclipse
Java Model, which is part of the Eclipse JDT,
provides the information which is used to populate
the Java diagrams
which AgileJ StructureViews produces. This means
that there is no need for the Java modeling
tool to parse the source code in order to
create a separate Java model from that created
by Eclipse. In reality, the main task of the Java
modeling tool is no longer the production of the
model itself, but rather the intelligent representation
of that Java model information in a way which
is useful to the Java development team.
